Going platinum: Ocuco named one of Ireland’s Best Managed Companies
Ocuco has been recognised for an eighth time, earning a Platinum Requalifying Winner title
23 October 2025
Ocuco has been named one of Ireland’s Best Managed Companies for the eighth time, with CEO, Leo Mac Canna, sharing the achievement is “first and foremost a credit to our people.”
Ireland’s Best Managed Companies programme, by Deloitte, recognised 115 indigenous companies at the awards.
Ocuco was recognised as a Platinum Requalifying Winner – a title granted to those who spend seven years with Best Managed Company recognition. This year, six companies achieved Platinum Standard.
The judging process evaluates the management team and business strategy of each company, considering strategic planning, governance standards, financial performance, organisational culture, talent strategy, and how the business is innovating year-on-year.
Mac Canna recognised the “discipline, customer focus, and pride in craft” of the teams at Ocuco, suggesting that this is evidence of “clear goals, measured outcomes, and steady execution.”
“They also appear in the details that matter to eye care professionals and labs: product quality, reliable service levels, and continuous improvement,” he said.
In 2025, Ocuco continued its investment in product innovation and applied a responsible artificial intelligence framework that automates routine tasks and streamlines internal processes.
Brian Murphy, Deloitte’s lead partner for Ireland’s Best Managed Companies Awards Programme, shared: “Irish indigenous businesses continue to impress, demonstrating unwavering resilience and commitment to excellence in an everchanging economic landscape.”
The programme recognises the “significant contribution that these businesses make to our economy, our communities, and our nation as a whole,” he added.
