Retina UK shares conference programme
The Retina UK Professionals’ Conference on 19 September will include content for eye care professionals, eye clinic liaison officers, and rehabilitation specialists

Retina UK, a charity supporting people affected by inherited sight loss, has released the details of its conference for health, social, and education professionals.
Taking place on 19 September in London, the Retina UK Professionals’ Conference will include sessions for eye care professionals, eye clinic liaison officers, rehabilitation and habilitation specialists.
The event is free to attend and will be CPD-accredited, with content provided both in-person and online.
Programme highlights include a presentation from the chief executive of Retina UK, Tina Garvey, sharing insights from the organisation’s sight loss survey.
Deputy chief executive from Retina UK, Paula McGrath, will also present a panel titled: Learning from lived experience: In conversation with our community.
Michael Crossland, senior research fellow from the University College London (UCL), Institute of Ophthalmology, and Rachel Canavan, a PhD student in psychology from UCL, will present on the topic of: Supporting the mental wellbeing of young people with inherited, progressive vision impairment.
In-person sessions will also focus on key topics for different professional groups, with a session for eye care professionals on advice and services for people with inherited retinal dystrophies, led by Louise Gow, head of eye health, optometry and low vision at the Royal National Institute of Blind people.
