Fight for Sight is encouraging the eye health community to sign up for its 30th annual golf day.

The fundraising event aims to raise money for Fight for Sight’s research into sight loss, including prevention and treatment.

Currently, research into preventing and treating sight loss receives just 1.5% of publicly-funded health research grants, Fight for Sight said.

The charity emphasised that people who are blind or visually impaired are three times more likely to experience loneliness and isolation than the general population.

The 2025 golf day will take place on 2 July at Stoneleigh Deer Park Golf Course, near Coventry, and is organised by the charity’s Warwickshire group.

Entry for a team of four costs £390, and includes a bacon or egg roll on arrival, 18 holes of golf, and a three-course dinner.

Evening events include games, a live auction, and presentation of prizes and the Fight for Sight Cup.

Over the past 29 years, Warwickshire Fight for Sight has raised over £350,000 from the golf day and other fundraising events.

Sponsorship opportunities for the event are still available, Fight for Sight said.
