EssilorLuxottica has appointed a new managing director for its UK and Republic of Ireland (ROI) optical retailers. This includes Vision Express, David Clulow, John Lewis Opticians and Harrods Opticians.
Steve Worboys takes on the managing director role as of January 2025. He has been the retail director of the Vision Express business since 2021 and has 20 years of experience in the UK retail sector.
Worboys was a member of the executive leadership team of Vision Express during its integration into the EssilorLuxottica group.
Commenting on his role, Worboys said: “I am delighted to be leading the UK and ROI optical retailers businesses for our global eye care leaders EssilorLuxottica.”
Prior to joining Vision Express, Worboys was head of retail at Lloyds Pharmacy, and previously held senior customer experience and retail planning roles at Sainsbury’s Argos.
