Leightons welcomes new joint venture partnerships
Mamdani Opticians in Bishop’s Stortford and Praills Opticians in Fareham have joined Leightons Opticians & Hearing Care
11 December 2024
Leightons Opticians & Hearing Care has merged with Mamdani Opticians in Bishop’s Stortford in a joint venture.
Mamdani Opticians has been established in Bishop’s Stortford since 1985.
The announcement is a progression of an existing relationship between practice owner, Minaz Mamdani, and Leightons CEO, Ryan Leighton.
The partnership developed through their work with The Hearing Care Partnership – a subsidiary of Leightons which supports independent optometry practices to offer a hearing clinic.
Mamdani commented on the joint venture: “Mamdani Opticians are extremely proud to be part of the Leightons Group,” adding: “We look forward to implementing the Leightons concept and products and are hugely excited by the future opportunities the joint venture will bring.”
Leightons will provide back-office support and product offerings, while preserving the character of Mamdani Opticians.
Discussing the partnership, Leighton said: “We are thrilled to be working with Minaz and his exceptional team. Our goal is to build upon their stellar reputation, further developing the business to solidify its position as the premier independent eye care destination in Bishop’s Stortford and the surrounding areas.”
This month, Leightons also announced a merger with Praills Opticians, one of the oldest businesses in Fareham, dating back to 1920.
Leighton commented that the Praills name is “synonymous with quality and consistency, and rightly so.”
He said: “We're particularly excited about introducing our hearing services and creating a unified practice that will truly deliver exceptional eye and hearing care to the local community.”
The latest announcements follow the re-launch of Leightons’ joint venture scheme earlier this year.
