Wessex Optical opens its largest practice in Lymington

Wessex Optical, a franchise partner of Boots Opticians based in Dorset and Hampshire, has opened its sixth branch.

The new Lymington practice is Wessex Optical’s largest site to date, covering 4000 square feet with five rooms and a dedicated hearing care room.

The practice will offer testing and diagnostic services across multiple clinics, including eye tests, contact lens fitting and aftercare appointments, dry eye assessment and treatment, and audiology services.

Providing services seven days a week, the opening of the practice has created 11 jobs in the town.

A £500,000 funding solution from Lloyds Bank has supported the newly-opened practice, which is forecasted to increase the business’ turnover from £4.5 million to £7 million.

Zabir Ali, founder and owner of Wessex Optical, said: “We are so excited to expand into Lymington – our second new branch this year.”

“It’s our aim to play a key part in the life of this community, in the prosperity of the High Street, and most importantly, in the eye health of the people of Lymington and its surrounding area,” he said.

Highlighting the business’ investment in optical testing, diagnostic and treatment technologies, Ali added: “With NHS services still in recovery mode post-pandemic, offering alternative specialist services on our High Streets is not only providing a vital service to communities but also alleviating pressure on the health service.”
