Luxottica’s optical retailer, David Clulow, has launched a charitable campaign to donate funds for each pair of frames sold in stores.
21 of David Clulow's 33 sites have now reopened. Three of the stores had remained open for essential care during lockdown, with the retailer commenting that “During the COVID-19 pandemic, David Clulow wanted to show its support to customers, by keeping some of its shops open for essential eye exams.”
With lockdown restrictions easing in most of England, the retailer has now created the ‘Eye for Care’ campaign to “thank and support the NHS” and show gratitude for frontline workers.
David Clulow has partnered with NHS Charities Together, and from mid-June to 31 July is donating £10 for each frame, pair of sunglasses or prescription glasses sold in store. The initiative is not limited to any brand.
“The money collected during this time will be used to support staff, volunteers and patients as they combat the virus,” the company continued, adding that the campaign “connects the brand even closer to its region” while also showing the company’s “appreciation for those who fought for us during the pandemic.”
“On behalf of our colleagues and customers, we’re pleased to be able to recognise our NHS heroes through this charitable initiative,” commented David Clulow Opticians managing director, Stefano Melani.
