The AOP has published a new patient leaflet to help people better understand their prescription.
The Your prescription explained leaflet is designed to help patients understand what their refractive error means and how their optometrist can help.
It includes explanations for the common types of refractive error including myopia, hypermetropia and astigmatism.
All of the AOP’s patient leaflets have been awarded the Crystal Mark from the Plain English Campaign, which means it is accessible and easy to understand.
There are 20 patient leaflets available to download on the AOP website, including the Your prescription explained leaflet.
The AOP has also opened a new video library, enabling access to its patient information videos in one place. To browse the video library, visit the AOP website.
