CET grant reminder: closing soon
Practitioners in England should make their claims before 1 November
16 October 2018
Optometrists in England are being reminded that the CET allowance grant claim must be submitted to Primary Care Support England (PCSE) by 1 November.
The allowance is paid in arrears and is therefore to recompense for CET undertaken during 2017. Practitioners who were on the ophthalmic list for at least six months during 2017, and who undertook General Optical Council-approved CET, are eligible to make a claim.
For practitioners making a claim in England, there is a new online process to follow this year. Completed forms should be scanned and uploaded via the enquiries form on the PCSE website.
The AOP has highlighted that while claiming the allowance is not as straightforward as it should be, it urges all eligible practitioners to make a claim.
Claim forms can be downloaded from the AOP website, with further guidance on how to make a claim also available.
