Optegra appointment marks expansion
Eye hospital recruits new surgeon in Yorkshire
22 May 2018
Specialist eye hospital Optegra has recruited a new eye surgeon at its Bradford facility as it expands its team.
Simon Kolb joins the hospital’s team with more than a decade of experience in hospitals across the Yorkshire region.
Mr Kolb, 36, became a consultant at St James’ University Hospital in 2016 after training as a registrar in Leeds, opting to specialise in retinal surgery.
He is also an honorary senior lecturer in ophthalmology at the University of Leeds.
Speaking about his appointment, Mr Kolb said: “There are not many retinal surgeons around and as Optegra treats every single type of eye condition, I am delighted to be able to assist with retinal surgery and treatment.”
