Practice management software company Optix and its customers have raised more than £6000 for charity.

The £6444 donation to Vision Care for Homeless People (VCHP) was presented to chair of the charity, Elaine Styles, by Optix managing director, Trevor Rowley, last week.

The funds were raised through delegate donations at the annual Optix conference, which was held in Wales last month (15–16 March).

Speaking about the donation, Mr Rowley said: “We have worked with VCHP for four years, supporting the clinics with software. We thought it would be good to introduce a charity appeal at our annual user conference and this was the obvious charity for us to support.”

The charity, which provides free sight tests and spectacles to homeless people, will use the funds to maintain the work of its five centres in London, Manchester, Birmingham and Brighton.
