Optegra partners with Fight for Sight
Optegra selects Fight for Sight as its UK corporate charity for a two year period
15 July 2015
Specialist eye hospital group, Optegra Eye Health Care, has named Fight for Sight as its chosen UK corporate charity for the next two years.
The partnership will see Optegra begin fundraising activities through the sponsorship of the charity’s Feast your eyes campaign later this year. The new initiative from Fight for Sight aims to encourage individuals and organisations to challenge their senses by dining in the dark.
Optegra has established a charity committee within the company, which will review its UK charity events and fundraising done by individuals. It will also look to match fundraising efforts by 50%.
Managing director of Optegra, Rory Passmore, said: “We have a number of hospitals and outreach clinics which are eager to participate in charity work, as well as a commitment within head office. We felt that combining forces and dedicating all our charitable work to one core organisation would be the most effective route.”
He added: “We researched carefully to find a charity which shares the same values as our own company; and felt that Fight For Sight was a perfect fit. It, and we, are committed to care, passion, trust and expertise, and we are both dedicated to educating the UK population about their eye health and wellbeing by encouraging regular eye tests and ongoing eye health care.”
Director of fundraising at Fight For Sight, Catherine Woodhead, said: “We are thrilled that Optegra has selected Fight for Sight as its charity partner for the next two years. Our work together will create many exciting opportunities to help raise the importance of eye health and much needed funds for eye research.”
