The German Design Council has recognised a frame from the eyewear company’s Urban Lite collection
23 January 2018
Silhouette UK has been announced as a winner of a German Design Award 2018 for a frame from its Urban Lite collection.
The ‘2901’ model received the accolade from German Design Council judges, who selected winners from over 5200 entrants all competing to have their products recognised for cutting-edge design.
Silhouette explained that the frame is made from SPX material, and is the Austrian brand’s lightest and thinnest full-rim frame.
Speaking about the award, the company said: “It is a mark of Silhouette’s incredibly pioneering design process that a model from the Urban Lite collection now carries this prestigious mark.”
A new selection of colours for the Urban Lite collection are slated for release next month.
Other eyewear winners included Projekt Samsen, Adrian Marwitz, Einstoffen Europe, Italian Pride, Lindberg, Markus Temming, Monoqool, QBSEE designed by Adriano Design, Som Eyewear, Tapole and Vue.
