Education by numbers
2025 has heralded the start of a new CPD period. We highlight the education that will be available to members throughout the year
In 2025, the AOP and OT will provide members with a wide range of education across a variety of formats: from online exams and webinars to in-person peer reviews and face-to-face events.
During the year, OT will offer 42 online CPD exams. Released monthly, this will comprise non-interactive CPD articles and clinical interpretation, as well as interactive CPD videos.
Run in partnership with the AOP, OT will provide five themed webinar days through the year covering: myopia (May), glaucoma (June), locuming (July), practice team (September), and OCT (October). To complement, the AOP will host eight online peer reviews and discussion workshops throughout the year, run both independently and in collaboration with partners including Johnson & Johnson Vision.
A range of in-person events will be run across the UK, including the return of the popular locum clinical skills, break to brilliance for those returning to work, and the hospital and specialty optometrists’ conference. The AOP will also host a series of professional development one-day CPD workshops on skills such as mastering workplace communication, and managing teams. It will run non-CPD focused webinars covering wellbeing.
