  I was on the GOC from 2000 to 2013 and saw a huge amount of change take place, new FTP, new PQE, the advance into therapeutics. Its rewarding and worthwhile and you will develop a much wider perspective. Its also vital that the GOC is informed by optometrists and DO's who are fully embracing a clinical role yes who also have an understanding of how business and the educational sector works. You'll join at a tremendously exciting time. Go for it.
