A pair of Elton John’s famous frames will form part of a display that focuses on ‘forgotten eyewear’ from the last 75 years when 100% Optical opens its doors on Saturday (25 January).
Curated by Mark Jensen, author of the book Forgotten Eyewear, the Forgotten Eyewear Museum will feature the singer’s 1970s windscreen wiper glasses (pictured).
Now in its seventh year, more than 9000 visitors are expected to attend 100% Optical this weekend. The show, which is held at London’s ExCeL on 25–27 January, will feature an exhibition of eyewear, equipment, lenses, business and audiology companies, as well as more than 100 hours of education. Also held during the show will be catwalk shows and equipment demonstrations.
New for this year is the show’s Future Practice Hub, which is designed to provide delegates with insight into how practices may evolve clinically over the coming years. It features a consulting room, a diagnostic suite and a dispensing area, in which hands-on skills workshops and educational discussions will be held.
