New sunglasses feature drawings of eyes from Andy Warhol’s archives
24 November 2017
Italian eyewear company Super has launched its fourth exclusive collection with the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts.
Super explained that the collection celebrates an “avant-garde approach to creativity” by interpreting drawings of pupils and eyes from the artist’s archives.
The two “tongue in cheek” sunglasses “merge together high-tech structural composition, innovative material and groundbreaking design,” the company added.

The experimental sunglasses have been designed for collectors and art enthusiasts, with all proceeds going towards the foundation.
The first model (pictured above) has thick arms and a wide oval lens with Andy Warhol’s eye design only visible from the exterior of the frame. The second model has a light metallic structure with a deep nose bridge to give the illusion of two floating eyes.
