Seeing a way forward

The rising demand for hospital eye services and the problem that the NHS faces in meeting patient need were hot topics at the most recent Vision UK conference (14 June, The Grange Tower Bridge Hotel, London).

Leading the discussion was Royal College of Ophthalmologists president, Professor Carrie MacEwen, who noted: “Pressure on eye health care services is not a new topic. It is becoming an increasing problem.” OT’s video production editor, Laurence Derbyshire, recorded the debate.

The Vision UK 2016 conference featured four topic streams – aging and sight loss, diabetes and preventing blindness, children and young people and science and technology.
