Optimax launches EyePredict service
High Street laser eye chain has introduced EyePredict service to forecast patient outcomes ahead of procedure
21 October 2015
Laser surgery multiple Optimax has introduced a new service enabling patients to know their expected outcome before surgery.
The new EyePredict service draws on data from patients of the same age, gender and prescription to provide a “realistic forecast” of the visual outcome which patients can expect after the procedure.
A report is presented to customers at their consultation, which also includes contact details for previous patients of similar age and eye profile before treatment. The company states that patients will be asked if they would like to opt in to the service.
Medical director for Optimax, Amir Hamid, said: “At Optimax we have data accumulated from more than 380,000 treatments, which allows us to offer this unique report to patients. Accurately predicting a patient’s result allows our patients to make an informed decision regarding treatment and means that we can ensure high levels of satisfaction.”
