New managing director for International Eyewear

International Eyewear has appointed Bob Preston (pictured) as its new managing director.

Mr Preston has worked in the optical industry for 28 years and joins the frames and sunglasses company from Boots Opticians.

He was an instrumental part of the transformation of the Boots Opticians and Dollond & Aitchison businesses when they merged in 2009. His previous roles at Boots Opticians included IT and transformation director, transformation director and supply chain director.

Mr Preston also previously held a number of roles at Dollond & Aitchinson, including head of IT and product director.

Regarding the new role, Mr Preston said: “With the optical world changing as fast as it is, my role is to equip the company with the tools and support to exceed the new demands of our customers.”
