Waterside Laboratories will be launching its extended ‘Sunactive’ range of photochromic lenses at 100% Optical this weekend (ExCel London, 6–8 February).

Visitors to the show are invited to join the company for its sunset soiree on stand W180 on Saturday and Sunday from 4–5pm to find out more while enjoying a Caribbean cocktail.

The ‘Sunactive’ range will be offered in six colours, including purple, pink, blue and green. Although coloured photochromics have been available for some time, Waterside believes this is the first time that any company has offered fashion colours at the same pricing as traditional grey and brown lenses.

Explaining the launch, Waterside’s managing director, Bob Forgan, said: “Frames are getting ever more colourful and what can be better than having photochromic lenses in fashion colours that either complement or contrast with the frames people are wearing?”

“Modern manufacturing techniques and Freeform technology mean this is something that is no longer just for single vision wearers and the full ‘Sunactive’ range is now available in all our progressive lens designs.”

Other products on display at the event will include the iPad-based OptikamPad dispensing aid and measurement system, as well as the Elysium Visual Lifestyle Analysis app.
