Instagram Competition

  1. The competition opens on Monday 8 June 2020
  2. The closing date is midnight on Wednesday 8 July 2020 Sunday 19 July 2020
  3. The competition is open to optometrists, optical assistants, students and optical practice staff team, internationally.
  4. Entries must be submitted in accordance with the ‘How to enter’ guidelines by midnight on the stated deadline
  5. By entering the competition, entrants accept that OT may use their copy or photograph for promotional purposes, without payment, the requirement for prior notification or permissions
  6. Entrants accept OT may use their data in order to contact them in relation to the competition
  7. Those entering the competition accept that OT may contact them regarding print features in the future
  8. All employees of the AOP, regular contributors of OT and nominated AOP representatives are excluded from entering the competition. This includes any family members.
  9. All entries must adhere to the GOC’s Standards of Practice for Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians. It is the individuals responsibility to ensure they consider the GOC standards before posting. OT will not be held responsible for any content posted by the entrant
  10. OT takes no responsibility for loss, delay or damage incurred as a result of entering this competition. Entries are taken at the entrant’s risk
  11. OT is not responsible for any technical issues (or other) that impede an entrants’ entry being submitted correctly and/or in full by the deadline stated
  12. The entrant must contact OT within one month, of being notified as a winner, if the prize hasn’t arrived. Any longer than a month OT is not responsible to replace the prize.
  13. OT is not responsible for any changes in Instagram profile name or any other information provided at the time of entering the competition
  14. OT is in no way liable for the reproduction or indirect access via third party website or homepage access which misstates or omits any of the information or terms and conditions connected with the promotion
  15. Entries will be judged by John White, editor of OT, assisted by the OT team. The judge’s decision is final and no correspondence will be considered
  16. The competition will be judged on the most compelling photo, story or lesson learnt. Examples submitted that meet this criteria and include optical references will also be marked highly.
  17. The winner will be contacted and announced within one month of the closing date of the competition (no later than 8 August 2020)
  18. If a winner does not respond within five business days of the first notification, the winner forfeits their right to claim the prize and a new winner is selected. OT shall not be responsible should a winner provide incorrect contact details
  19. If a winner is unable to take up their prize for any reason, OT reserves the right to award it to an alternative winner, in which case the first winner chosen will not be eligible for any share of the prize whatsoever
  20. The prize is: Amazon gift cards totalling the value of £100
  21. The prize is non-transferable, non-negotiable and there is no cash alternative
  22. OT does not accept any responsibility for any liabilities, damage, disappointment, injury, death or loss incurred as a result of participating in the competition or accepting the prize other than such liability that cannot be excluded by law, where liability shall be limited to the minimum permissible by law
  23. OT reserves the right to cancel or amend the terms of this prize and without notice
  24. The winning entry may be reproduced free of charge by OT without payment, in direct promotional material related to the competition only
  25. The organiser of the competition is OT. Any complaints regarding the competition should be sent to OT Instagram competition, Association of Optometrists, 2 Woodbridge Street, London EC1 0DG.
