Optometry Today (OT), in partnership with VivaQuity and the AOP, are pleased to provide this 60-minute webinar.

The session will highlight the pathophysiological mechanisms responsible for vitreous degeneration and the structural changes that occur during this process. Using novel data from recently published studies, the session will explore how specific nutrients of the vitreous, via their anti-oxidative and anti-glycation properties, can be considered for the management of vitreous degeneration, vitreous floaters and vitreous ocular disease.

Professor John Nolan

Professor John NolanProfessor John Nolan is a Fulbright Scholar and currently holds a chair for human nutrition research at the School of Health Science, South East Technological University, Ireland. He is also the founder and director of the Nutrition Research Centre Ireland where his work is centred on the role of nutrition for vision, cognitive function and prevention of age-related diseases.

Professor Nolan has published 117 peer-reviewed scientific papers in his area of research. A major career highlight is his role as chair of the International Brain and Ocular Nutrition Conference, which is held at Downing College, Cambridge University.
