SightGlass Vision pass 2m wearers of myopia control lens
More than two million children worldwide have worn the DOT spectacle lenses for contrast-management based myopia control

SightGlass Vision has celebrated surpassing two million wearers worldwide of its DOT spectacle lenses for myopia control.
The lenses provide contrast-management based myopia control through Diffusion Optics Technology.
SightGlass Vision has passed the milestone less than a year after surpassing one million wearers.
Andrew Sedgwick, CEO of SightGlass Vision, commented: “Two million children in DOT lenses is a powerful reminder of why we do this work, and a testament to the need for this safe and effective myopia control treatment.”
"We’re proud that so many eye care professionals trust DOT lenses to correct their young patients’ vision today and help reduce future eye health risks, and reaching this milestone only energizes us further to work alongside the clinicians who are pushing the field forward,” he added.
Peter Ivins Eye Care was one of the first practices prescribing DOT lenses in the UK, with Craig McArthur commenting: “DOT lenses fill the need for an easy and highly effective solution to offer families, and having strong clinical evidence behind that recommendation gives us greater confidence in those conversations with parents.”
The company highlighted new clinical data demonstrating that DOT lenses saved more than 1D of myopia progression on average after two years in Chinese children aged six to 10.
The two-year data from SightGlass Vision’s CATHAY study also found that the lenses slowed average myopia progression by 67% (0.78D) and average axial length progression by 62% (0.40mm) after two years of wear across the full study population of patients in China aged six to 13 versus the control group.
Yuping Chen, commercial director for China at SightGlass Vision, described the response to the lenses in the country as “extraordinary.”
“Few countries feel the weight of childhood myopia as acutely as we do, and it’s been deeply rewarding to see so many practitioners make contrast management part of how they care for children, with so many families placing their trust in it as well,” Chen continued.
