EssilorLuxottica records best quarterly performance
The group highlighted momentum in the wearable category, and in vision care and sunglasses
24 October 2025
EssilorLuxottica has recorded its best quarterly performance ever, seeing consolidated revenue for the third quarter of 2025 reach €6867 million.
This marks a year-on-year increase of 11.7% at constant exchange rates compared to the same period in 2024.
The vision care and sunglasses business grew at a 5% pace, EssilorLuxottica shared, while the “exponential growth” of wearables helped boost performance.
In the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) market, EssilorLuxottica recorded revenue of €2694 million, up 12.7% compared to the third quarter of 2024.
“Excellent” performance in the professional solutions category stemmed from well-co-ordinated execution across geographies, categories, and trade channels, the group suggested.
The company highlighted: “The effective ability to translate innovation into growth was evident in the lens category.”
Performance was driven particularly by products including Varilux Physio Extensee, Nikon Z, and Transitions Gen S, as well as Stellest, which continued to gain traction.
In the frame segment, Ray-Ban and Oakley saw strong growth which was primarily driven by artificial intelligence (AI) glasses. Nuance Audio, the eyewear with integrated hearing support, “gained further ground” with customers, EssilorLuxottica found.
Among licensed brands, Miu Miu and Chanel emerged as top performers.
In the direct-to-consumer category, comparable store sales were up high single digit, the group said, with optical and sun banners performing equally well.
The group has made several acquisitions this autumn, including RetinAI, which was announced this month, and Optegra, which will be consolidated as of 1 October.
Francesco Milleri, chairman and CEO, and Paul du Saillant, deputy CEO at EssilorLuxottica, commented: “Achieving our best quarter ever since the creation of the group, we mark as a milestone that speaks to the strength of our vision and the ability of our young and strong management all over the world to deliver groundbreaking results in any market conditions.”
The leaders recognised “outstanding contributions” from the EMEA and North America markets, with performance also driven by “booming wearables and strong momentum across vision care and sunglasses.”
Wearables continue to be a key focus for the group, with the next generations of Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta glasses revealed, and with the Meta Ray-Ban Display.
"We’re accelerating our med-tech ambitions,” the leaders shared, as well as “strengthening our leadership in myopia management with Stellest lenses.”
“With Optegra eye clinics and RetinAI now part of our Group, we’re structuring our vision-health ecosystem – bringing AI-driven prevention and treatment together to empower millions of people around the world,” Milleri and du Saillant added.
