Registration opens for AOP Hospital and Specialty Optometrists Conference 2025
The two-day conference in November will provide education and networking opportunities for hospital and community specialty optometrists
20 June 2025
Booking has opened for the AOP’s Hospital and Specialty Optometrists Conference (HSOC), which will take place from 8–9 November in London.
The event, supported by headline sponsor Bausch + Lomb, will bring together hospital and community specialty optometrists for education and networking.
Bookings for the two-day event opened for hospital and specialty optometrists today (20 June).
The event will deliver a main programme of four lectures, along with paper presentations and a trade exhibition.
Professor Augusto Azuara-Blanco will present Glaucoma treatment beyond IOP: alternative therapies and neuroprotection, followed by a lecture from Dr John Buchan on Delivering eye health for everyone, everywhere, forever.
Professor Rachel Pilling will also provide a session called Do you see what I see? Neurodivergency and vision.
The conference will host four content streams focused on the topics of anterior eye, contact lenses, glaucoma, and medical retina.
The anterior eye workshop stream will be supported by Thea Pharmaceuticals, Bausch + Lomb has sponsored the contact lens stream, while the glaucoma stream has been supported by Newmedica.
Delegates can book sessions across a mixture of streams or focus on an area relevant to their clinical subspecialty.
Dr Ian Beasley, head of education at the AOP and OT clinical editor, explained that the content of each stream will vary to suit delegates both with and without specialisms in these areas.
Beasley said of the conference: “HSOC is not only for hospital optometrists; we welcome specialty optometrists working in the community who want to foster collaboration and shared learning experiences with secondary care colleagues.”
A dinner and reception will be held on the Saturday evening, sponsored by Cantor Barnard.
More information on the programme and booking details can be found on the AOP website.
