Edmonds & Slatter Opticians has raised £1037 for a local charity for children with disabilities through its winter fundraising campaign.

The Leicestershire independent group held Christmas jumper days at all five of its practices, hosted winter raffles in conjunction with local Christmas light switch-on events, and collected voluntary donations from patients.

Menphys supports services for children and young adults with additional needs and disabilities in Leicestershire, and has done so for more than 50 years.

The charity aims to ensure equal opportunities and a fulfilling life for all.

Funds raised by Edmonds & Slatter will go towards, amongst other projects, an ‘Inclusive Afternoon Tea’ at the Menphys Hub in Wigston, south of Leicester.

The event will celebrate Mother’s Day and will include card-making, live music, opportunities for family photographs, and an afternoon tea.

Linda Southin, operations manager at Edmonds & Slatter, said: “As independent opticians, engaging with our community is crucial. Our team has generously volunteered their time for these charity events, and we are proud to support Menphys.”
