French optical group enters the UK

Optical Center to open 10 stores in the UK as part of its first stage of expansion into English speaking countries

The French eye care and hearing care group, Optical Center, has entered the UK High Street, securing 10 locations.

Advised by Newmark Retail, the most recent location to open has been confirmed in Bracknell. Housed in a 2000 sq ft space, the practice offers eye care and audiology services.

Other locations that the Optical Center will open in include Tottenham Court Road, Greenwich, Colliers Wood, High Wycombe, Milton Keynes, Borehamwood, Staines, Harlow and Richmond.

Founded in Paris by Laurent Lévy in 1991, Newmark Retail confirmed that the new locations in the UK mark the “first stage of the Optical Center’s growth into English speaking countries as the brand continues its international expansion with more than 800 stores across eight countries, including in Canada, Spain, Luxemburg, Switzerland and Belgium.”

General manager atOptical Center, Julie Bernier, said: “London is the perfect city for the next stage of our growth, with plenty of opportunity to welcome new customers and introduce them to our extensive range of vision and hearing products and services we have to offer.”

She added that the company is “excited about what the future holds for our presence in the UK.”
