Eye care company, The Body Doctor, has made a product donation worth £2500 to Vision Care for Homeless People (VCHP).
The donation marks the start of a long-term partnership between the Yorkshire-based company and VCHP.
VCHP, which operates 10 static clinics across the UK, is piloting a domiciliary project for one year that sees the charity working with two teams of Specsavers domiciliary contractors to provide a free eye care service in hostels and centres across East and West Yorkshire.
The Body Doctor’s donation included 120 bottles of The Eye Doctor Hypochlorus Eyelid Cleansing Spray and 120 bottles of The Eye Doctor Intensive Relief Eye Drops.
Sam Wymer, co-founder of The Body Doctor, handed over the donation, commenting: “We’re committed to supporting this service for the benefit of our local community. Eye health is often overlooked, especially for vulnerable individuals, and we’re thrilled to offer products that will make a real difference.”
Tony Wing, a locum dispensing optician and VCHP project manager, said the support from The Body Doctor allows the charity to further extend services, “ensuring that more people can receive essential eye care treatment.”
He added: “Access to proper eye health services is a challenge for many of the people we work with, and this donation will go a long way in providing relief to those most at need.”
