Independent acquires fourth practice

A Scottish independent is expanding with the acquisition of its fourth practice.

Urquhart Opticians has purchased Optical Outlet in Ayr and is currently in the process of rebranding the practice.

Owned by partners Alistair Duff and Peter Telfer, Urquhart Opticians already has branches in Kilmarnock, Prestwick and Troon.

The Ayr-based practice will be run by optometrist Carol Semple, who joins the company from Black & Lizars where she was recently named its Optometrist of the Year.

Speaking about the acquisition, Peter Telfer, said: “We are thrilled to have grasped this opportunity to widen our presence across Ayrshire. We very much look forward to providing a high level and continuity of care to the patients.”
