The organiser of Vision Expo West has hailed its 30th anniversary as a “sweeping success” after audited results revealed a double digit increase in attendance compared to the 2017 show.
Around 13,000 optical industry professionals visited the event in Las Vegas, which took place at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre on 26–29 September.
Attendance increased across nearly all categories, including optometrists, dispensing opticians, independent and multiple practitioners, as well as multi-disciplinary practice and laboratories.
The show had an expanded education programme, including a dedicated area for dispensing opticians and contact lens technicians called OptiCon @Vision Expo.
New exhibitor areas, ‘Block’ and ‘Next,’ experienced increased attendance with standing room only during fashion shows and panel discussions.
The next event, Vision Expo East, will take place on 21–24 March in New York, with Vision Expo West returning to Las Vegas on 18–21 September. For further information, visit the event website.
