The Association of British Dispensing Opticians (ABDO) held its graduation and prize giving ceremony at Canterbury Cathedral on 22 November.
The event saw ABDO present awards for qualifications and special prizes in recognition of the highest marks achieved.
Special prizes included the Association of Optometrists (AOP) Prize, which was presented to Alexander Howe by the AOP’s chief executive, Henrietta Alderman (pictured). Mr Howe was awarded for the highest mark in section A of the final qualifying practical examination.
Graduands were welcomed by president of ABDO, Fiona Anderson, and addressed by the master of the Worshipful Company of Spectacle Makers, Felicity Harding.
Speaking at the event, Ms Anderson, said: “Our graduands have worked long and hard towards this day and I am sure that their families and friends are very proud of the achievements which we are celebrating.”
