Expansion at Optegra Eye Sciences

Optegra Eye Health Care is further investing in its research division, Optegra Eye Sciences, with optometrist and international researcher, Dr Andreas Hartwig, appointed to a newly created role.  

The optometrist has returned to the UK from Germany to take up the position of clinical research manager at Optegra.

The appointment follows the success of a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) between Optegra and the University of Manchester, in which Dr Hartwig played a key role. 

Dr Hartwig is a PhD graduate from the University of Manchester, and his responsibilities will include developing Optegra’s clinical research programmes.

Head of Optegra Eye Sciences, Dr Clare O’Donnell, said: “I am delighted that Andreas has joined the Optegra Eye Sciences team. During his time as a KTP research associate, he developed an excellent understanding of Optegra’s business and of eye health care more widely.”  

Dr O’Donnell added: "With an experienced researcher like Andreas on board, we can expand our clinical research and educational activities, further develop our personalised approaches to patient care, whilst strengthening our ongoing reporting and project work internationally.”
