Applications for Alcon scholarship programme open in July

Alcon has announced that applications for its next scholarship programme will be open to newly qualified optometrists between July and August.

The programme provides optometrists who have qualified in the last two to five years with opportunities to develop their clinical, professional and commercial skills.

Also open to international applicants, the two-year programme consists of five two-day courses, four of which take place at the Alcon Academy in Surrey with the last course held at one of Alcon’s European facilities.

Head of professional affairs at Alcon, Jonathon Bench, said: “Educating future and existing optometrists is a key priority for Alcon. Last year alone we trained over 10,000 industry personnel in all aspects of contact lens use and patient care and this year is no different.”
