Edmonds & Slatter Opticians relaunch domiciliary service

Leicestershire-based independent, Edmonds & Slatter Opticians, has relaunched its domiciliary service that offers at home sight tests to patients who are unable to attend the practice.

The independent has offered the Home Eyecare Service for more than three decades. It is now actively raising patient awareness of the service because it “understands how difficult it is for anyone who is housebound and for their family members to organise eye care visits, so we aim to make the process as easy as possible,” said dispensing optician Michelle Stubley.

Practitioners will travel to any patient located within a “reasonable distance” from the independent’s three practices in Blaby, Glenfield and Lutterworth. It will visit both private homes and care homes.

Speaking about the service, Ms Stubley explained: “We have always offered the Home Eyecare Service, but have recently started making people more aware of the service for any immobile relatives. Patients who can no longer get to us should not miss out on the quality of service and selection of eyewear that we offer.”

The Home Eyecare Service is available to NHS and private patients, the independent confirmed.
