Chiara Ferragni
Eyewear manufacturer, Safilo, has signed a new multi-year global licensing agreement with the Italian blogger, digital entrepreneur and fashion identity, Chiara Ferragni.

The agreement covers the design, manufacture and distribution of the first Chiara Ferragni branded eyewear, marking the brand’s entry into eyewear.

The full range of optical and sunglasses will be released for the spring-summer 2022 season, available from January, and will be distributed wholesale and through Chiara Ferragni’s own boutiques.

Welcoming the brand to Safilo’s portfolio, Angelo Trocchia, CEO of Safilo Group, said: “Together, we want to create a new leading and digitally boosted fashion eyewear brand that directly speaks to new generations, working in synergy with the extraordinary power of Chiara’s global fan base to further strengthen the presence of Safilo in the digital universe.”

The eyewear manufacturer highlighted that Chiara Ferragni’s influence in fashion trends and business model “have become a case history in the new digital economy.”

The eyewear company has been accelerating digital transformation projects over the past year, including the launch of its business-to-business platform and the completion of its acquisition of Blenders Eyewear.

The company explained it was working to be “at the forefront of seizing the opportunities of the digital business,” suggesting the new agreement with Chiara Ferragni contributes to its digital transformation goals, “and active engagement strategy, addressing new generations through new languages and channels to reflect what is happening in the marketplace.”
