Charmant to close UK subsidiary

Charmant Group has confirmed it will close its UK operations from the end of June 2024.

Charmant Europe will continue trading from its offices in Paris, Munich and Woerden, and from the logistics hub in Willstätt.

In an email shared with OT, the manufacturer explained that the decision had been reached “after a lengthy and substantial review process taking into account multiple factors of supplying the UK market.”

While the focus is currently on the process of closing the UK arm of the business, the group said it is looking at potential options for supplying UK customers in the future from the European hub with an online only option. The group said it will provide further updates on this in due course.

In communications to customers the group said the subsidiary will close on 28 June.

Existing orders booked for delivery up to 30 April will be fulfilled, Charmant said, with new prepayment orders accepted until 19 April.

If practices require spare parts beyond the closure of the subsidiary, the group said it would seek to assist from the European hub.
