The new spring/summer 2018 Cutler and Gross collection has been custom-designed in an Italian factory

Cutler and Gross has launched its spring/summer 2018 collection, which includes acetate and metal spectacles and sunglasses.

All frames in the collection have been custom-designed and handmade in a dedicated factory in northern Italy.

The eyewear company highlighted the ‘1301’ model (pictured), which is a hexagonal shaped, hooded frame. It combines metal and acetate materials and is available in seven colours.

The round-oval style, ‘1305,’ is available in available in two colours as a spectacle or one colour as sunglasses. The acetate is a millimetre thicker than previous frames and features flush vertical pins and five barrel hinges.

Style director at Cutler and Gross, Marie Wilkinson, said: “Cutler and Gross frames are truly works of art, combining quality, design, attention to detail and craftsmanship. These superlatives are often used loosely but not with Cutler and Gross.”

“The new ‘1303’ is a great example of this and one of my favourite models to have recently emerged from our own factory in Cadore. It combines a hand-polished Italian acetate front with judicious interior milling for supreme fit, with Japanese titanium temples for featherweight comfort and stable wear,” Ms Wilkinson added.
