Atlantic Optical has announced that it is now the UK distributor for Woodys Barcelona and has launched the Heroes collection.

Woodys Barcelona was founded by director and former European wakeboarding champion, Josep Dosta, who was inspired by the strength of the sport’s wooden board. Wood is incorporated into the design of the eyewear, which also includes acetate and metal frames.

Director of Atlantic Optical, Jayne Smerald, said: “We’re very excited to be bringing Woodys to the UK. It’s confidently unique, packed with Barcelona attitude and full of life. We know it will suit the UK very well.”

The Heroes collection, which debuted at 100% Optical (27–29 January, ExCeL London), is a range of spectacles and sunglasses for men and women that “features vibrant colours and patterns in the true European style,” according to the eyewear company.

Speaking about the collection, Ms Smerald, explained: “The range celebrates the new heroes, who live everywhere. They are unique people who lead normal lives, but are the real heroes every day.”

Optical styles include ‘Butterfly,’ ‘Deer’ and ‘Koala,’ while sunglasses include the ‘Diana,’ ‘Jean’ and ‘Selina’ styles.
