A journey into the Far East

Area 98 launches new Coco Song collection inspired by exotic lands

Coco Song 'Excited Evening' model

Area 98 has launched its new Coco Song collection that takes the wearer on a journey into the Far East.

The collection contains a range of exotic-themed designs with intricate detailing comprising silk, dried flowers, feathers and other natural materials, which are combined with bold acetates and innovative colour combinations that are perfect for the summer season.

The highly refined frames are according to the company: “Made entirely by hand for the woman who wants to feel unique.”

Semi-precious stones, including turquoise, white howlite, malachite, lapis lazuli and tiger eye are complemented by chiselled metal decorations that “recall the symbolism of ancient oriental dynasties, in an imaginary journey through distant and mysterious lands” the company added.

Standout models in the collection, include the ‘Carry On’ and ‘Nobody Away’ designs, which make a style statement with their colour contrasts and decorative details. ‘Carry On’ features delicate feathers resting on silk, among layers of acetate on the front and temples, while the latter is adorned with beautiful dried flowers along the frame.

The ‘Excited Evening’ and ‘Beautiful Thing’ models embody the exotic theme. Two-tone enamelled metal representing the scales of the imperial dragon is the focal point of the first style, signifying strength and good fortune. Similarly, the second style, features two dragons, with semi-precious stone set in an enamel decorative embellishment. Semi-precious stones feature in both designs for an added touch of refined glamour.
