Jil Sander and Rodenstock sign eyewear licence agreement
German fashion brand Jil Sander and the Rodenstock Group have announced a strategic licensing alliance to create Jil Sander men’s and women’s eyewear, starting with the 2015 collection.

The agreement will give Rodenstock the exclusive global licence to design, manufacture and distribute both the sun and ophthalmic collections for the Jil Sander eyewear line.

Jil Sander’s chief executive officer, Alessandro Cremonesi, said: “This cooperation with Rodenstock is further evidence of our consistent commitment to quality and innovation, which we want to offer our clients globally.”

CEO of the Rodenstock Group, Oliver Kastalio, said: “We are looking forward to working closely with Jil Sander. Their commitment to quality and design perfectly fits with our Rodenstock values. The high-end fashion brand with its female heritage is the right addition to our traditionally male-focused brand portfolio.”

The new collection is being developed in collaboration with the creative director of Jil Sander, Rodolfo Paglialunga. The design and colours of the new eyewear will reflect the sophisticated and luxurious world of the brand.

The eyewear collections will be available from May.
