What does the company have planned for 100% Optical?

Essilor and Luxottica will be exhibiting together on one EssilorLuxottica stand at 100% Optical 2022, where we’ll be showcasing some of our joint projects. These will include frames, instruments and the latest innovations in lenses.

What product or service will you be showcasing?

We’re excited to be able to showcase Essilor Stellest lenses, which became available in January 2022, Essilor’s best solution to slow down myopia progression in children

Another big launch at the show is the Myopia Expert 700, which will also be supported with a new software solution in the coming months. This kit is designed to detect, follow and monitor the progression of refraction and axial length for the most effective myopia management. And with higher rates of childhood myopia, practices are going to be seeing more and more myopic patients, with their parents seeking long term solutions. The new kit will support the patient journey – from history to the eye exam, refraction to prescription and dispensing – to help ECPs grow their practice.

What trends do you expect to see emerging from the show?

Personalisation is a major area of opportunity for optometrists, and we expect to see this emerge as a key theme for the 2022 show. As a consumer you want to feel special as you look for unique products and it’s no different for lenses. We now live in an age where we want products specifically designed for us and the optical industry needs to make sure it can adapt and meet those evolving consumer needs.

We’ll be showcasing our latest state-of-the-art phoropters, including the Vision-R 800 and 700, to help ECPs take a more precise refraction in practice, as well as Visioffice X to take accurate lens measurements, and a selection of Varilux and Transition lenses to suit all lifestyle needs. Together, the equipment and lenses provide a bespoke product.

Two other important trends for 2022 will undoubtedly be visibility and differentiation, and we will be talking to ECPs about our new customer partnership programme, Essilor Experts, during the show. The programme promises to support, build, and future-proof independent optical practices. It will anticipate the needs of patients to help keep ECPs ahead of their competition and support their path to growth.

Dry eye is always a big area for the show, and we’ll be showcasing our dry eye solutions to remind ECPs about key equipment including Idra and TearStim for diagnosing and treating dry eye syndrome.
