On the show floor at 100% Optical: Eyewear, contact lenses and eye health
As the show approaches, OT canvassed exhibitors to find out about their plans. Positive Impact and Bonavista Optics highlight what will be on their stands
05 March 2022
The exhibition hall at 100% Optical 2022 is set to be full of product launches, announcements, new research, and countless opportunities for networking.
In preparation for the three-day show, OT spoke to exhibitors about their plans for the exhibition and what they expect to see in their sectors. The full series, including speaker Q&As, can be found here.
Contact lenses, dry eye and more: Positive Impact
Nick Atkins, managing director, confirmed that NaturalVue 1day Multifocal, and the newly-launched SynergEyes iD products, will be highlights amongst contact lens products on the stand.
“Positive Impact will also be showcasing our unique ‘best in class’ portfolio of dry eye diagnostic solutions including TearLab, InflammaDry and Mei-Cam,” Atkins said.
From its portfolio of treatment options, in the spotlight will be HydraMed eye drops, Eye Nutrients Dry Omega supplements, and Purifeyes.
Discussing what ‘one thing’ delegates should expect from the company at 100% Optical, Atkins told OT: “Support for the independent sector is our overarching mission. The vast majority of our unique portfolio of products are not available in the retail giants. If that’s not a good enough reason to stop by and find out what Positive Impact can do for independent practice – I don’t know what is.”
Differentiation
“In contact lenses, the big opportunity is to offer a full service to particularly include more specialist products, as well as myopia management. With NaturalVue 1day Multifocal and the SynergEyes hybrid lens range, Positive Impact is an ideal partner to fulfil these objectives.”
Eyewear: Bonavista Optics
Speaking to OT about plans for the show, Bonnie J Ashley, president of Bonavista Optics, explained: “In 2021 we were pleased to premier our first two Limited Edition sunglass models, ‘1912 Downton’ and ‘1926 Downton’, along with an eyewear accessory line.
“We are now excited to introduce the first of our Downton Abbey frame collections, reflective of the Crawley family characters. In honour of the 29 April UK Downton Abbey: A New Era release, we will have some additional surprises for you at 100% Optical.”
Bonavista Optics has also been commissioned to design and distribute for additional franchises, Ashley told OT, adding: “Watch for our exciting announcements coming soon.”
Fit and function in design
Ashley: “Eyewear designed by opticians will be a key trend. We know frame function as well as fit and what works on our clients stylistically, so it is a natural progression. Patients and opticians are both looking for better quality and fit in their products. Where the products are made, how they are made, and what they are made from will all be a factor. This combined with the need to be different, to expand our horizons and to stay relevant, is what will drive the successful eye care professional.”
