SECO 2018 talk
Registration for SECO has opened for its 2019 event, which will be held in New Orleans on 20–24 February, and AOP members can receive a free premium registration package.

The five-day annual American conference includes education for optometrists, ophthalmologists and students with over 400 hours of education available.

President of SECO, Emilio Balius, said: “It’s our goal to provide the optometric community with the most robust education to ensure attendees have access to the most up-to-date content to enhance their personal and professional development.”

The organisers of the event shared that SECO 2019 will include new education formats, such as ‘outside the classroom’ sessions, and new technologies for practice owners to keep their business operating effectively.

Mr Balius added: “Learn about the latest research on the topics that matter most, gain an understanding of what’s happening in eye care at the Vision of Tomorrow industry forum and see what’s next at the Practice of Tomorrow interactive exhibit. Get the knowledge you need to stay competitive in an ever-changing industry, refine your skills and look into the future of eye care at SECO 2019.”

AOP members can claim a free premium registration package by using the AOPFREE19 code on the event registration website.

It includes all education courses, the symposium series, access to the exhibition hall, admission to the Saturday night party, a guest pass for the exhibition hall and Saturday party, and a one-year subscription to SECO University.

SECO is also seeking nominations for its awards, which recognise outstanding optometry professionals for their contributions and dedication to optometry.

Nominations for optometrist of the south, paraoptometric of the south and young optometrist of the south are being accepted until 30 November.

Honourees will be recognised during the SECO House of Delegates meeting at SECO 2019 on 23 February.
