The number of visitors attending the annual German trade show, Opti, reached almost 27,500 this year, organisers have reported.
Attendees gathered at the three-day show, which took place in Munich on 15–17 January, from 81 countries around the world and placed orders to the value of more than €152.9m(EUR).
Commenting on the show, CEO and president of GHM, which organises the event, Dieter Dohr, said: "With its fast pace, Opti brings a lot of momentum to the new business year. This event wins over everyone with its focus on quality, creative spirit and incomparably family-like atmosphere.”
He added: “Opti triggers new trends, as the trade show is flexible in meeting the needs of the market, and setting off new impulses. It is a home fixture for all specialists in the optical industry from Europe and, increasingly, from elsewhere in the world too.”
Reporting the results of a survey taken at the event, organisers found that the show was positively received by visitors and exhibitors alike, with 91.7% of exhibitors and 95.3% of visitors labelling the show as “outstanding to good.”
Furthermore, over 70% of trade visitors said that the event was “instrumental for their buying and ordering decisions.”
