The Hospital Optometrists Annual Conference offers a series of webinars open to those working within secondary care as well as practitioners based in primary care and other settings.

Session two: Glaucoma and the brain
This session will firstly discuss the overlap in clinical findings between glaucomatous optic neuropathy and non-glaucomatous optic neuropathy and suggest strategies for distinguishing these in the diagnostic work-up. The session will then explore the potential relevance of intracranial pressure as a risk factor for glaucomatous optic neuropathy. Finally, the emerging topic of glymphatics will be considered, which may be relevant not only to glaucoma but also to other neurodegenerative diseases.

Fion Bremner
Fion Bremner is a consultant neuro-ophthalmologist working at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, London. He has several research interests, including pupil abnormalities associated with autonomic disorders and OCT changes associated with the inherited ataxias. He is a member of a number of national and international committees and societies and is currently president of the European Neuro-Ophthalmology Society.
