New resource to help practice teams thrive
Optometry Today’s new guide offers training and expert insight for every member of the practice team
Optometry Today (OT), in partnership with the Association of Optometrists (AOP) and Johnson & Johnson Vision, has published The Secret Ingredients, a print and digital resource designed to support the entire practice team.
The guide delivers professional development to help practice teams build confidence, learn skills and adapt to changing patient needs.
Covering topics including children’s eye care, career progression, body language in practice, clinical conundrums, OCT, and artificial intelligence, the guide combines practical advice with expert insight to address key training needs across the practice team.
Selina Powell, OT Features Editor, said: “Each year, the Practice team guide aims to reflect the realities of life in practice. This edition brings together the topics that shape that experience − from navigating clinical dilemmas to taking the next step in their careers. Our goal is to create a resource that supports the people who make excellent patient care possible every day.”
Risha Patel, Johnson & Johnson Vision Professional Education Development Manager, said: “This Practice team guide has been created to support and inspire the entire optical team, recognising that exceptional patient care is delivered through collaboration at every stage. Developed in partnership with the AOP, it brings together practical insights on communication, children’s eye care, emerging technologies, and career development to build confidence in everyday practice.
“At Johnson & Johnson Vision, we are committed to empowering teams with accessible, real-world guidance that enhances patient experience, supports professional growth, and helps practices unlock new opportunities in eye care.”
The print guide will be issued to those who work in independent practice, AOP members in the UK and OT subscribers, alongside the June/July edition of OT, which lands on 6 June.
The guide is open access online and can be read on the OT website by visiting www.optometry.co.uk/practiceteamguide
