Optometry Today’s new Practice Team Guide

Optometry Today publishes new essential guide for practice teams

Optometry Today (OT), in partnership with the Association of Optometrists (AOP) and the Vision team at Johnson & Johnson, releases the latest edition of the Practice Team Guide.

The fifth instalment of the Practice Team Guide is a print and digital resource supporting practice owners and their teams with in-depth articles on navigating complaints, leadership lessons, effective triage, wellbeing, sustainability, and toric contact lenses. By combining practical case studies, and expert tips, the guide acts as a professional development tool for the whole team that evolves alongside the needs of the practice.

Designed specifically for the entire practice team, the guide addresses key training priorities, from contact lens fitting techniques to patient conversations, ensuring teams remain at the forefront of clinical practice.

Selina Powell, OT Features Editor, said: “The Practice Team Guide offers practical solutions to practice owners and their teams, from refining the triage process to championing sustainability in practice. Every section is geared towards empowering every team member to drive excellence at every touchpoint.”

Risha Patel, Professional Education Development Manager in the Vision team at Johnson & Johnson, added: “A successful practice team is like a finely tuned machine, where all components work together seamlessly beneath the surface. This Practice Team Guide offers practical tips on everything from navigating complaints and effective triage to leadership skills. Designed to be an ongoing resource, it helps your team work harmoniously to deliver exceptional patient care.”

The guide is open access online and is available as a standalone publication for members in independent practices. The resource will land in print on 4 October.
