Optometry Today launches CPD Survival Pack
Essential education package to help practitioners meet CPD cycle requirements
Optometry Today (OT) has launched a CPD Survival pack, in collaboration with the Association of Optometrists (AOP), and in partnership with CooperVision.
The pack has been designed to provide practitioners with access to additional CPD to support them in meeting their education requirements before the end of the current GOC CPD cycle.
Dr Ian Beasley, OT Clinical Editor and Head of Education at the AOP, said: “In these final stages of the CPD cycle, it is crucial that practitioners are accumulating their CPD points to meet the GOC’s requirements. The Survival pack has been produced to fill any education gaps that may be left as we approach the end of the cycle and to support any development goals that practitioners may have set for themselves at the beginning of the cycle.”
The suite of education covers all practitioner types and every domain, with six non-interactive CPD exams, each worth one CPD point, and one interactive CPD Video exam exploring myopia, offering two CPD points.
The exams within the pack have been selected from education that OT has run during the current CPD cycle, along with a brand-new video. New multiple-choice questions have been created for each non-interactive exam. However, practitioners who have completed these CPD exams earlier in the cycle cannot re-take the exam.
Christina Olner, Head of Professional Affairs for the UK and Ireland at CooperVision, said: “CooperVision is delighted to contribute to this year’s OT Survival pack, supporting eye care professionals to access a broad range of topics across learning domains as they near the end of the CPD cycle.”
The non-interactive CPD exams are available on OT’s website from 14 September, and the interactive CPD Video will be published on 2 November. The CPD will be available until 29 December.
AOP members and OT subscribers can check for CPD points they have gained through OT by visiting their MyAOP.
