Print refresh for leading optical journal, Optometry Today

Optometry Today  (OT ) rolls out its first full print refresh since 2015, launching in the August/September edition

The journal of the Association of Optometrists (AOP), Optometry Today, has launched a new look in its August/September edition, its first full refresh in eight years.

The OT refresh marks the journal’s official move to a bimonthly frequency in print, designed with reader in mind and enabling more of a deep dive into important and timely topics.

Alongside a new look and feel, OT maintains its thematic nature, where the journal covers a topic impacting the profession with the aim of informing, educating and challenging. Its front cover will be photo-led going forward, showcasing significant people in the profession that are making a difference and leading change.

OT’s August/September The right place, right time edition explores the impact of High Street optometry practices on extended care and patient access to services in the community.

OT editor, Emily McCormick, said: “We’re delighted with the release of our August/September edition which marks a new look for OT – reflecting the biggest refresh we’ve undertaken  since 2015 and our official move to a bimonthly frequency.

“Designed with our readers at the fore, OT’s new format has been curated to ensure that we can keep AOP members informed about the most important issues that are affecting the profession as they happen. We welcome new sections including In focus, a long read offering, in which we will investigate key topics and developments, Life in practice, a section on career paths and professional development, and What’s happening, a section focused on updates in product trends and launches across the industry.”

OT’s CPD section has also been refreshed, featuring four clinical articles from experts providing a range of education suitable for all practitioner types, complemented by new and exclusive online clinical interpretation exams with varied multimedia assets, and bimonthly CPD videos.
